Registration is open for a limited number of spaces for the Sonoma County Trails Council’s 2016 “Building and Repairing Trails in Sonoma County” class.
The class will be on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 8:30am to 4pm at the Robert Ferguson Observatory classroom in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.
This training will cover trail design concepts and essential elements of sustainable trails along with repair methods for trails with problems in Sonoma County.
The class includes three hours in the classroom, a break for lunch and about three hours in the field applying the techniques presented in the class.
The class will be valuable for anyone wanting to understand the underlying mechanics of trail construction and learn to deal with the challenging trail maintenance issues in Sonoma County.
$20 fee covers course materials, lunch and parking. A limited number of scholarships are available. Come dressed for field work (long pants, long sleeves, hat, gloves, work boots or hiking boots). Tools and instruction will be provided.
